At First Baptist Church of Bonneau, you’ll find a warm, welcoming church family where everyone is invited to come just as they are. Under the leadership of Pastor Luke, our heart is to share the love of Christ, grow in faith together, and serve our community with compassion and purpose.

2025 We celebrated 104 years

Eight charter members organized Bonneau Baptist Church in November of 1921. Charter members included: Rev. and Mrs. D.O.Rivers, Mrs. Leonora Spiers, Mrs. Effie Feagin, Mrs. Minnie Crawford, Mrs. Ada Binarr, Mrs. W.A. Wall and Mr. B.A. Taylor.

Initial meetings were held in the Bonneau school auditorium and an old store building. Mrs. Minnie Crawford later donated property and a white frame church building was constructed on the corner of Murry-Ferry and Church Streets in 1925.

Many changes have taken place since the beginning in that old white church house, in July of 1971 the name was changed from Bonneau Baptist Church to First Baptist Church of Bonneau.

Our current sanctuary was built in 1982 and the old white church was torn down in 1986.
